The Parting Glass (Living Room Session w/ Chuck Owston)

from The Parting Glass EP by Tiffany Apan

about

This last version of The Parting Glass was done as a living room session with Chuck Owston. Chuck has been a popular staple in my living room sessions and it's been a pleasure to do this song with him to wrap up the EP.
Enjoy!

lyrics

Of all the money that e'er I spent
I spent it in good company
And all the harm that e'er I've done
Alas! It was to none but me
And all I've done for want of wit
To memory now I can't recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all
Oh, if I had money enough to spend
And leisure time to sit a while
There is a fair man in this town
That sorely has my heart beguiled
His rosy cheeks and lovely lips
Alone he has my heart in thrall
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all
Of all the comrades that e'er I had
They're sorry for my going away
And of all the sweethearts that e'er I had
They'd wish me one more day to stay
But since it falls unto my lot
That I should rise and you should not
I gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be with you all
